(To all my dancing friends, I hope you'll enjoy following my trainee year.)
For those of you who don't know, I've been accepted into a year-round Classical Ballet trainee program at an established and renowned dance school in NYC. (This came after a great 8 week long summer intensive program at the same school that went from June to August. It was a great city experience, and though challenging, a lot of fun too!) I'm very excited with the opportunity of studying in New York City, of all places - with the wealth of experiences, information, and exposure that can be obtained there, not to mention the wonderful instructors of the dance world sharing their knowledge, expertise, and passion for dance - and I can't wait to share my adventures and daily experiences with you all! So many new things come to and happen in New York, and I'm really grateful to be in the dance capital of the world. It's both humbling and exciting at the same time - and I'm looking forward happily (well, maybe a teensy bit nervous, too) to my first day. The program starts the 3rd week of September, and I keep thinking it's a ways away, but the date is coming quickly. Time to start packing!
But anyway, I hope you'll stay around for more frequent updates as the program starts - I'm really looking forward to sharing bits of my day and the program with the followers of the blog over the year, as well as my experiences in the big city - adventures, escapades and such.
