Seeing Dance From the Cheap Seats

From the New York Times

"For Friday’s Weekend section, Claudia La Rocco is writing about seeing dance performances from the cheapest seats of some of New York’s important halls. As it happened, all four of The Times’s dance critics were in attendance at the Sunday matinee of City Ballet at the David H. Koch Theater.  Roslyn Sulcas and Gia Kourlas in orchestra, the chief critic Alastair Macaulay a level up in the First Ring, and Ms. LaRocco in the Fourth Ring (specifically, three rows from the very top of the theater). As it turns out, it does make a difference but it’s not necessarily what you think.   "
